Last month, around 240 students participated in an Operation Snowball/Cebrin Goodman Teen Institute Conference held in Normal. Of those students, three were from Red Bud High School.

Attending were Emma Roscow, Abby Wolter and Kailyn Moeller. All three are seniors at the high school.

These three attended the conference along with a representative from the Southern Illinois Substance Abuse Alliance (SISAA), and three students and the principal from Okawville High School.

Operation Snowball is “an alcohol and other drug use prevention program that focuses on leadership development to empower youth to lead drug-free lives.”

According to their website, www.operationsnowballinc.org, it was “founded on the belief that youth and adults can make responsible decisions when provided with factual information and an opportunity to develop an understanding of one’s self and motivations.”
