Local police help in spreading Christmas joy

SPREADING CHRISTMAS CHEER–Pictured in Santa’s Village last week are Red Bud Police officers with some of the children they helped with this year’s Cops and Kids at Christmas program.

Red Bud Police Chief John Brittingham was happy to report that this year’s Cops and Kids at Christmas program was a success.

This year, the program was able to help 20 area kids. On Dec. 11, these youth were taken by bus to the Waterloo Wal-Mart so they could shop for Christmas presents with members of the Red Bud Police Department. Afterwards, the group went to Santa’s Village in Red Bud for more holiday fun.

Each family was also given a fresh smoked turkey for a holiday meal, courtesy of The Burnt End.
