Local firemen participated in annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb

PARTICIPATE IN STAIR CLIMB–Climbing for the Red Bud Fire Department’s team in this year’s Clayton 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb on Sept. 8 were: in front: Sean Landgraf, Tony Vause and Tyler Hess; in back: Jana Zipfel, Zac Zipfel, Liz Cowell, Clinton Guebert, Ryan Glasscock, Adam Cowell, Bobbi Montroy and Brian Montroy.

On Sunday, Sept. 8, several Red Bud firemen participated in the annual Clayton 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

The Clayton 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is not a timed race event, but a way for firefighters and the community to honor and remember the New York fire-fighters who selflessly gave their lives so that others might live.

Each stair climb participant paid tribute to a FDNY firefighter by climbing the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center, most doing the climb in full turnout gear. All of the climbers carried the name and photo of one of the 343 firefighters that died on Sept. 11, 2001.
