On June 3, the Monroe County Republican Central Committee approved of putting Lucas Liefer on the ballot this November for the county’s state’s attorney.
The spot on the ballot was open as of last month when former Monroe County Assistant State’s Attorney Ryan Martin officially withdrew from running due to what he noted as personal family matters.
The Monroe County Republican Central Committee noted that Liefer is well respected by area first responders and fully endorsed by Sheriff Neal Rohlfing, Circuit Clerk Lisa Fallon and current State’s Attorney Chris Hitzemann. “(The) common theme we heard was that he is very prepared for court all the time and is well liked by court staff.”
