The books were judged by the teachers and outstanding, first place and participant winners were awarded the night of the festival.

Outstanding winners were asked to read a portion of their story during the festival program.

All outstanding and first place winners were put into a drawing for a chance to win a Kindle Fire. Molly Kuehn from St. John’s Lutheran and Kira Bass from RBES were the lucky winners. Emma Steibel and Griffin Schneider won $25 gift cards to Barnes & Nobel. Several other students received attendance prizes of McDonald’s gift cards.

Outstanding winners will be given the opportunity to represent their schools at the Regional Office of Education’s Young Author’s Conference in March.
