Ladies win all three last week; prepare for regional

Last week the Lady Musketeers chalked up three victories. The team faced Wesclin, Steeleville and Valmeyer. 

The Lady Musketeers knew that the Wesclin Lady Warriors were going to be a tough team to beat. During the first quarter Red Bud scored seven points. Hope Guebert sank a three-pointer. Amber Stengel and Olivia Carle tallied two points each for the quarter, as well. At the end of the quarter Red Bud led 7-6.

In the second quarter of play, the Lady Musketeers scored nine points. Stengel scored five points total. She made two, two-pointers and was fouled and went one for two from the free throw line. Hannah Sievers was also fouled and she went two for two from the free throw line. Makayla Whelan and Carle each made a free throw, as well. The score was 16-17, the Lady Musketeers trailed by one going into halftime.

The Lady Musketeers came out strong after halftime scoring 12 points in the third quarter. Grohmann tallied up five points, consisting of one, two-pointer and one, three-pointer. Guebert and Lexi Amann also sank one, three-pointer each. Makayla Whelan was fouled and went one for two from the free throw line. The score was tied 28-28 at the end of the third quarter.
