WINNERS–Enrique Rangel and Jenny Fadler were the overall winners of the Glazed Gallop 5K held Feb. 29 and sponsored by St. John the Baptist Catholic School. Rangel’s finishing time was 18:27 and Fadler’s, 24:53.
The first Glazed Gallop 5k, 1.5 mile fun walk, and 0.7 mile Kids’ Donut Dash, held on Saturday, Feb. 29 was a success. The event was sponsored by St. John the Baptist Catholic School.
The race took approximately 100 runners and walkers through Lincoln Park and around the SK&K subdivision, offering glazed goodness at every mile. Runners had to decide if they would keep running or give in to the rewarding temptation of a Krispy Kreme donut. Giving in would allow them to deduct one minute off their race time for every donut consumed along the route during the race.
The school appreciates the Burnt End, DiCarlos, IGA, and Lieferbrau for donating attendance prizes. St. John the Baptist Catholic School also appreciates all of the sponsors, workers, and participants for making the first Glazed Gallop event a success.
