Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Red Bud Fire Department had to cancel their annual Firemen’s Picnic this past June.
However, the firemen opted to hold a barbecue last Saturday, offering carry out options.
“The barbecue was great, it surpassed all our goals,” commented Fire Chief Sean Landgraf about the event.
Overall, the firemen served up 2,300 to go orders; selling a total of 850 pork steaks, 800 brats, 400 ribeyes, 475 hamburgers and 140 servings of chicken strips. In addition, they also sold T-shirts. And they almost sold out of everything.
