Randolph County Sheriff Shannon Wolff has shared the results of a recent inspection of the Randolph County Jail.
It was noted that the jail was inspected on July 24 of this year.
Illinois Department of Corrections Office of Jail and Detention Standards Manager Edwin R. Bowen noted of the inspection, “Specialist Fritschle again noted numerous improvements during the inspect. Additional staffing with no less than two officers on each shift is a great accomplishment. Jail Administrator Peters and the jail staff should be commended on their commitment to the operation of a safe and secure facility.”
Wolff added that during this year’s inspection, the main issue was with overcrowding. He added though that the overcrowding tends to happen over the weekends or on Mondays before people bond out of jail.
