SPECIAL PRESENTATION–Over the weekend, Delbert Moll, seated, was presented with a letter from President Donald Trump thanking him for his service to our country. Presenting Moll with the framed letter were Prairie du Rocher American Legion Commander Stan Wallach and Sergeant at Arms Duke Hinrichs.
A local veteran recently received a special recognition in honor of his 95th birthday.
Last Saturday, a small ceremony was held at Garden Place in Red Bud to present Delbert Moll with a letter from President Donald Trump, thanking him for his service to the country.
Prairie du Rocher American Legion Sergeant at Arms Duke Hinrichs noted that he has been working for over a year to have Moll recognized by the President for “his dedication, love and service to this country.”
He added, “Mr. Moll is a huge supporter of the President and it was an honor to have the President and Mrs. Trump acknowledge his service and being a part of the Greatest Generation, demonstrating the courage which burns in the hearts of America’s warriors.”
Moll, who turned 95 on Jan. 25, has served our country in multiple military branches during World War II and the Korean War. He served in the Merchant Marines/Coast Guard, the U.S. Army’s 11th Airborne Division, the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Air Force Reserves.
