After a long stretch of scorching heat, the Red Bud High School cross country team experienced a break in the weather for their Oct. 3 meet at Chester.

The meet was held at Randolph County Lake and provided a challenging course with hills throughout the wooded area. A total of 11 boys teams and 8 girls teams participated, for a total of 173 runners.

With the cooler weather came multiple medals for the Red Bud team members.

The meet scored the runners by freshman/sophomore and varsity, respectively. The freshman/sophomore runners that medaled were: Ethan Summers, 19th, and Simone Liefer, 19th. The varsity runners also did well, with Calyn Hartmann, 9th, Adrienne Vallett 13th, Ellie Suhre, 17th, and Eddie Miller, 7th, all bringing home medals.
