In Randolph County, the number of active COVID-19 cases continued to be around almost a dozen for the past week. In Monroe County, the number of positives has also continued to slowly climb.
Last week, the county went from no active cases to a high of 11 on Saturday, July 4. This week, on Monday, July 6, that number increased to 12, however one case did recover by Tuesday, July 7, bringing the number of active cases down to 11.
All of the current active cases are reportedly recovering at home.
Health Department Administrator Angela Oathout noted that the new confirmed cases are in the communities of Chester, Red Bud, Walsh, Rockwood, Sparta and Baldwin.
However, she also expressed concern about county residents traveling to other areas. “We learned today a Missouri county that is in close proximity of Randolph County has 70 new COVID-19 cases,” Oathout stated in her July 2 report.
