Updates were the main discussion points at the Randolph County Commissioners’ brief meeting on July 26.
From the health department, Administrator Angela Oathout noted that Nola Vallett, the department’s health inspector had officially resigned on July 19.
They are currently looking for her replacement and will post for the job soon. She added that instead of just a health inspector, they want someone who can handle environmental health as well.
She added that their recent hire, Kelly Jany, has been a wonderful addition to the department.
Oathout also reported that she would be setting out mosquito traps over the weekend, to collect samples for West Nile Virus testing. She added that only a few local municipalities that went through the mosquito larvicide training have picked up their larvicide. She will call and remind the others it is in.
