District 116 State Representative Jerry Costello II resigned from his House seat this week to take up a new appointment with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
In a press release on Tuesday, May 7, Governor JB Pritzker announced that he was “building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields,” and had appointed Costello to serve as the director of law enforcement at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR).
“After serving his country in the battlefields of Iraq and the people of southern Illinois in the statehouse, I’m thrilled Jerry Costello is continuing his public service by leading law enforcement at the Department of Natural Resources,” said JB Pritzker in the press release. “His wide-ranging experience brings much value to an important piece of state government.”
