Tomorrow’s Technician magazine and B’laster Corp. are currently in the process of finding the finalists for their first ever first-ever B’laster Instructor of the Year.
The companies note on the website for the program, www.tomorrowstechnician.com/instructor-of-the-year, “The Instructor of the Year program recognizes the auto instructor who takes an unconventional approach to education, works a little too hard and most importantly, is committed to educating the best future technicians.”
To be considered as a finalist, teachers had to submit information that tells about unconventional builds, projects or systems that makes their classroom different. Each month from August of this year through April 2019, the companies will select one finalist. The Instructor of the Year will be named in May 2019.
Selected as the fourth finalist, and featured in the November issue of Tomorrow’s Technician was Greg Baird from the Career Center of Southern Illinois.
“What a great honor for a fantastic teacher who has served CCSI students since 2008,” commented Career Center of Southern Illinois Director Mark Stuart. “We are very proud of Greg, who also serves as a Skills USA co-sponsor and maintains his current skill knowledge working in automotive shops each summer. Our CCSI students are fortunate to have Greg as their teacher.”
