Catholic Schools Week 2020 will begin on Sunday, Jan. 26. This is a weeklong celebration sponsored by the National Catholic Education Association with special activities across the United States. St. John the Baptist Catholic School is proud to be a part of this national association that supports and encourages strong educational programs in a faith-filled environment.
St. John’s is part of the Diocese of Belleville’s education system that has 26 elementary schools and three high schools as members. The diocesan elementary schools vary in size from 35 to 515 students, but all schools can boast of strong Catholic identity, high academic standards, competitive athletic programs and a strong child protection monitoring system.
Most people think Catholic Schools Week is a time of fun and games, but the intent is much more than that. This is the week to showcase the many facets of the Catholic school environment. There will be open houses, appreciation meals, academic competitions, service projects, games, faith sharing experiences and many more activities that vary with each school.
