Red Bud man Robert A. Burgdorf has been donating blood since 1982, and even as he reached his 24 gallon donation, he has no signs of hanging it up.
“I’m not stopping,” he said.
Burgdorf, 75, was among those giving blood during the American Red Cross blood drive at Red Bud Regional Hospital on Thursday, Nov. 15. For Burgdorf, this donation marked his 24 gallons of blood he’s donated since he started nearly 36 years ago. Because each blood donation can save up to three lives, Burgdorf’s donations may impact over 515 lives.
