This year there was quite an increase in early and mail in voting, but quite the crowd still turned out on Tuesday to cast their votes in person.
Randolph County reported 72 percent voter turn out while Monroe County reported 78 percent turnout.
While the final, official results from the Nov. 3 election may take up to two more weeks to tally, here’s how Randolph and Monroe Counties voted as of Tuesday night:
In Randolph County, Ronald “Ronnie” White defeated Timothy Lowry for county commissioner 9,725 to 4,867. And Julie Jany-Carnahan beat out incumbent Sherry Johnson for circuit clerk, 8,783 to 5,884.
Current State’s Attorney Jeremy Walker and Coroner Carlos Barbour were unopposed on the ballot this year, but both still received plenty of votes of support.
