Fifteen checks were recently sent out to help locally owned, Randolph County businesses. The Randolph County Progress Committee and the Community Foundation of Randolph County had been seeking large contributions for some time to help local small businesses during COVID-19. Then, the employees of the Baldwin Power Plant stepped up and offered to help.
The progress committee posted on social media, through the county’s five chambers of commerce and through newspaper stories that grants would be made through the community foundation. A simple application was also distributed. Over a two week period, the progress committee received more than 40 applications from Randolph County small businesses.
