Baldwin American Legion Hall has new owner

The Baldwin American Legion Hall officially changed hands this week.

Mike Turnure, owner of the K-River Motel and Campground, has purchased the hall and has plans to renovate it.

Turnure told the North County Newsthat he plans to put a new roof on the building, renovate the bathrooms, and put in new lights, doors and flooring. He added that it will take a month or two to complete the renovations.

The overall goal though, Turnure noted, was to still maintain the hall as a community center. “I couldn’t let this go under. This is for the town. I want to promote businesses in Baldwin and to help the community and organizations.”
