
Despite a continued drop in the total number of active cases in Randolph County, another COVID-19 related death was reported this week.
On Monday evening, May 11, the Randolph Emergency Management Agency noted the death, bringing the total for the county up to three.
However, on Tuesday, May 12, the total number of active cases reported for the county was at 71, a significant drop from the 118 active cases reported just last week on May 6.
Of the 71 currently active cases, 65 people are quarantined at home and six are hospitalized.
A total of 158 individuals have been released to return to normal activity.
The total number of positive cases for the county was 232. Cases, both active and released, have been in the following communities: Chester, Coulterville, Ellis Grove, Evansville, Modoc, Percy, Prairie du Rocher, Red Bud, Sparta, Steeleville, Tilden and Walsh.
